Ringxiety :-)

Another favorite on my Sweeter Sites list is WordSpy. Most recently my favorite entry there is ringxiety. How perfect a word. Just the day I read that term, I had been in a meeting with my friend Rachael who has the same ringtone I was currently using. Her phone rang and I jumped out of my skin. My phone rang and she knocked over her purse trying to get to hers too quickly. Made us both laugh...nervously. Haha - we had "ringxiety". :-)

It's always a race against time for our family every single time the cell phone rings.

If we're at home and the regular phone rings, we usually don't even move to pick it up. But when we're running erands, in the car, performing complicated surgeries etc., the instant the cell phones rings, life stops and GAAHHHH!! GET THE PHONE! GET THE PHONE!! WHERE IS IT??!? IT'S IN MOM'S PURSE!! ARRRGH!!! IN THE SIDE POCKET!! THE SIDE POCKET!!! LOOK IN THE---- HHUURRRRRRRRYYYYY!!!!

It's usually never worth it.

true that.

i actually suffer from the second type of ringxiety: thinking sounds are cell phones when they are actually just sounds. when my oldest daughter's friends are here phones go off all the time, but this week i thought the hitclip toy that iris was playing with was someone's phone--as if anyone would have "kiss me baby one more time" as a ring tone!!!!! its 2006!!!!

btw: i don't allow the kids to perform complicated surgeries in the car anymore. we've missed too many unimportant calls that way.

My mom's been thinking about banning in-car surgery, too, but there's just not enough hours in the day to do it any other time.
